Likes: Bushido, Army, Food (especially sour and bitter), Sake, Ancestors, Very sad theatre plays, respect, self confidence (not stupidity), lotus roots and challenges, outdoors.

Dislikes: Insubordination, people who thinks that physical strength is all in life and abuse of it, low selfsteem , people who feel self-pity chronical, cowardly and boring ceremonies.

Personality: Extremely honest, sometimes (almost always) can be harsh. Kaede is a competitive woman who is loves challenges (any kind). Like a volcano, she has an explosive temper, and if you provoke her, you’re gonna find a formidable adversary who’s don’t gonna doubt in any moment. Loyalty is a very important thing for her and her loyalty for the village is one of her strongest things. Always confident and with a strong personality, is kinda intimidating sometimes, because she has a big will power. She doesn’t tolerate insubordination, and she is ready to punish the lack of respect to their superiors or any act that fits in challenge the authority. She doesn’t have fear to show her disgust if her superior is not worthy of her respect. In her position (is a general of the FFV army) she knows an inefficient superior is a risk for all the platoon, the unity or the squad, and for her, If her superior is not worthy and honorable she is gonna move to change that. She tries to help all the people she can, because her loyalty is with the people of the village. Despite her explosive/honest/harsh personality is quite introverted and doesn’t talk much about her feelings, because her priority is the village and her army and they are more important. First is a samurai, then a woman. In battle she focus all her explosiveness in do the right thing to win. She is good like a tactician, but in the field is a fierce warrior concentrate in one thing: destroy the enemy.

History: Founded by a platoon near to a recently erupted volcano, she grows between warriors and tacticians. In the platoon two flareon sisters take care of her (Kumiko and Kanako) and they adopted her as their child. The platoon never let her in an orphanage because they determinate she was a fighter for survive alone, who know how many days, in a volcano, even being a baby. Homurakami Kumiko, one of her “momies” was a pretty fierce and terrible warrior who teach her how to handle a sword and how focus her rage and inner fire in battle. Kanako, instead, was the healer of the platoon, and teach her how to write and read and other “no fighting” stuff. Kanako was more attached to Kaede, and take care of her, even when Kaede was aviable to fight in the field. Without the presence of kids, Kaede had a hard time when the platoon returns to the village for rest. She tried to play with other kids and being one more (for orders of Kumiko) but she simply didn’t fit, and when kids rejected her was pretty hard for her. She attack three kids because they was bother her just because nobody was like her. “In all the world nobody has such strange hair, such a weird colors and eyes” they said. After the attack, Kanako tried to comfort her, but the damage was done. Kumiko and Kanako never hide the truth to Kaede, because “Hide the truth is inefficient and dangerous”, and they told her how she was found and the Taisa tactician (the tactician colonel) said she was an “Entei” and she was blessed for the gods and a blessing for the platoon. Kumiko told her never be ashamed of what she is “You are a soldier of FireField Village Army, and the gods bless you with the soul of the volcanoes, because that is what Entei is. Your head always have to be high and you have to be proud, because your name is Homurakami Kaede and you are the child of Homurakami Kumiko and Homurakami Kanako, and doesn’t care if you are an Entei or a Flareon, or whatever, because we and our ancestors are proud of you, because you are an honorable soldier and an honorable daughter ”. This words make disappear all the damage that the kids done in her soul, and she never forget the words of her mother Kumiko. The day before return to the lines Kaede saw a bunch of kids, specially two of them. The two girls was exactly the same but once has her hair and her kimono gold and the other the same but in blue. The other kids was making fun about the two swablu girls, and Kaede help them hitting the other kids. The twins thank her for helping them and told her she was pretty and strong. The girls sang for Kaede and gave her the thanks once more, then they say good bye and Kaede never saw them again. The feeling of help others was heartwarming for Kaede and she decide she was gonna protect all of them who can’t protect theirselves.
In the years after Kaede grows and start to gain position in the army. She learn more for the tacticians, specially after Kumiko died (she has a very honorable death. Kanako and Kaede are very proud of her). General Mishima Koemon, look her incredible skill in the field and took her under his care and teach her about tactics, history and war and prepared her to ascend in rank. When Koemon retires of the army, Kaede still was Chusa (Lieutenant Colonel) and following orders of Koemon she starts to climb positions and finally she was promoted to Taisho of FireField Army. She knows that the son of Koemon (Keishiro) is a Gunso (Sargent) and she expects a lot of him.

Additional info:
+ Her hands are always warm and when she is excited/tense/angry the temperature in her hands raise a lot
+Loves lava and inside volcanoes.
+Loves how feels the cold water in her body
+When she is angry her eyes looks like hot lava
+ She enjoy to look flowers but she doesn’t like touch them, because almost always she burn them
+ Likes forest too, but try to not touch much things
+ Ikebana is quite boring for her
+ Heavy drinker, but she never get drunk in front the troops
+ Kanako is retired and lives in FFV, and works on Mishima house (Koemon assistant)
+ “Tsk” sound with her tongue when gets interested
